Job description
Following a period of growth and increased demand for our services, North West Blood Bikes have taken the decision to launch a fundraising department.
What will you be doing?Established in 2012 North West Blood Bikes is a volunteer led organisation which supports the NHS by delivering blood, platelets, donor breast milk and lifesaving supplies to hospitals throughout the North West during unsociable hours. Having grown significantly during the past 10 years our volunteers have been responsible for over 120,000 emergency deliveries, saving the NHS over 6 million pounds.
To continue delivering our lifesaving service we rely on the generosity of local businesses and the public who collectively give in excess of £150,000 per annum so we are able to purchase and maintain a fleet of delivery bikes and support the network of volunteers who give up their time to support the charity and the NHS.
Demand for our service is ever increasing with NHS trusts throughout the North West requiring more deliveries than ever. With this increase in demand comes an increase in costs for which the charity must meet with the support of a new voluntary fundraising division we are aiming to launch in late 2022/early 2023.
Over the past 10 years North West Blood Bikes have completed over 100,000 missions delivering lifesaving supplied to NHS hospitals throughout the northwest of England. This would simply not be possible without the dedication of our volunteers and the financial support of the public and local businesses.
Following a period of growth and increased demand for our services, North West Blood Bikes have taken the decision to launch a new voluntary fundraising department to help the organisation raise funds that can be invested in further developing our service and supporting our volunteers.

What difference will you make?Over the next 12 months we are aiming to recruit for and maintain a department of circa 6 volunteers responsible to event fundraising, corporate fundraising, and grants fundraising. This will require the support and direction of an experienced manager who is able to support North West Blood Bikes by volunteering 4 hours per week to guide the organisation's fundraising strategy.
