As a Gardener at Ashlynn Grange Care Home, you will be responsible for ensuring that the full extent of the grounds and gardens is a high-quality amenity for residents, their relatives and our team.

About Ashlynn Grange Care Home:
Ashlynn Grange is an exceptional 153-bed care home in Peterborough. The home prides itself on the surrounding gardens that grow flowers and a variety of different vegetables.

The level of care at Ashlynn Grange is exceptional, and all staff love to keep residents entertained with a full programme of activities and live performances on our outdoor stage. Our newly refurbished café is available to our residents and their visitors, serving a variety of fresh tea, coffee and cakes daily.

About the role:
Reporting to the Home Manager, the Gardener is responsible for ensuring maintenance of the garden and grounds to high standard. We want a truly green fingered individual to take charge of our garden and grounds.

Salary:
£10.42 per hour.

Shift Pattern:
30 hours per week - 4 days worked between Monday to Friday.

Home Location:
Bretton Gate, Peterborough, PE3 9UZ.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Be solely responsible for the garden and grounds, overseeing all aspects of planning, purchasing, planting, and maintenance.
• Work with the home Manager to plan for garden improvements, ensuring the garden flourishes under your care.
• Perform regular garden maintenance tasks, including watering, weeding, pruning, and general upkeep.
• Collaborate with our team to ensure the garden is well-watered, especially during the summer months.

Training, Skills & Experience Required:

• Experience working within a gardening environment is essential.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of care homes or working with people living with dementia is advantageous.
