Job description

We are looking for an Assembly Fitter for a client in the Oldham area.

Work is on days and paying £13.50/hr PAYE. This is a PERMANENT position and due to start ASAP.

Overview:

The primary purpose of the role is to fit & assemble mechanical equipment and sub-assemblies in accordance with works instructions and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities:

• Correctly operate conventional machine tools and measuring equipment including band saws, drills, riveter, hand tools and test equipment. (ESSENTIAL)
• Undertake marking out and setting out to specified tolerances. (ESSENTIAL)
• Read and interpret technical / engineering drawings. (ESSENTIAL)
• Carry out simple sheet metal work, fabrication or welding (DESIRED).
• Use safety equipment, i.e. PPE and be aware of, and follow all Health and Safety notices and instructions.
• Be a team player. Transfer your knowledge and skills to other colleagues including apprentices when necessary.
