Job title: Financial Analyst _ Commercial

Location: Reading/ Hybrid working
We are looking for an individual with a minimum 5-7 years of financial experience, part qualified ACCA or with a Finance degree and keen to pursuing ACCA or CIMA qualifications. MBNL will provide the training cost if you want to become a Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA). This role would suit someone who would like to grow and develop his or her career within MBNL.
What you will do:
- End to end responsibility of month end accounting through input from both internal partners, and external outsourcing partners for all Company 4 spend. (Rent, Rates, Utilities, Hardy, Transmission, Own costs).
- Unique role financially supporting various areas of the business, relating to the Emergency Services Network.
- Work closely with shareholders to ensure correct accounting treatment is being adhered to, and costs are being managed against the correct budgets.
- Support the Commercial Finance Analyst on Finance Month end tasks. Preparing and posting journals, producing variance analysis reports to support the justification of accruals, and completing post month end reconciliations.
- Deliver in line with our accounting policies to ensure balance sheet reconciliations, and cash forecasting is completed in a timely manner.
- Work with the Commercial Finance Analyst to produce the month end Financial Reporting packs for review meetings with shareholders.
- Support the Commercial Finance Analyst during the forecasting and budgeting processes. To Investigate forecasting variances with the relevant business areas continuously improving the assumptions in the forecast.
- Supporting the Commercial Finance Analyst to ensure all governance processes are followed.
- Responsible for the delivery of monthly management accounts to shareholders through close collaboration with outsourcing partners (Utilities and Estate management) and internal stakeholders under strict timelines
- Provide business partnering relationships to the Legal and Property teams and help them in achieving their corporate objectives.
- Ensuring appropriate governance, approval, and financial management of all finance processes within Site Running
- Responsible for financial review and approval of purchase orders. Ensure costs are correctly allocated and challenging the business from a cost perspective.
The ideal candidate:
- A strong Financial Accounting Acumen
- Degree level in Finance and Accounting; Strong academic background.
- Ability to communicate at all levels is essential; Strong stakeholder management
- Having the ability in forecasting variances and discrepancies, financial reviews and ensuring costs are allocated correctly
- Unqualified / Part qualified accountant - ACCA, CIMA or similar.
- Advanced level in Excel and IT skills
- Initiative and pro-active "can-do" attitude.
- Resourcefulness, getting or finding information and filling in the gaps.
- Strong team player.
- Great attention to detail.
