Position Summary

Jobsite role supporting the Permitting/Licensing Manager in the management of the permit process for a new semiconductor manufacturing facility. Requires extensive interface with the Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).

Typical Responsibilities

• Perform quality/completeness reviews of design packages prior to submittal to AHJs.
• Submit design packages to AHJ using the AHJ tools/processes.
• Coordinate with various engineering disciplines (within Bechtel and with Design Partners) to obtain and compile responses to comments from the AHJs. Assist in managing comments to closure.
• Prepare meeting notes and track key actions in meetings with the AHJs and Customer.
• Interface with AHJs at their offices and at the jobsite. Participate in joint Bechtel/AHJ walkdowns at jobsite.
• Track status of permits to ensure they will be in place to support construction activities.
• Elevate concerns and be part of the solution to address problems.
• Support a positive work environment, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction on the project.

Skills and Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in architecture, an engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Relevant Engineering experience.
• Strong interest in permitting.
• Excellent organization skills. The quantity of design packages and related comments will be significant so will need to manage and track large amount of data using electronic tools (Excel, databases, online tools).
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills. Will need to interface with AHJs, engineering disciplines, and Customer. Will need to be diligent in preparing meeting notes for weekly meetings.
• Basic knowledge of engineering processes and procedures (including Building Codes and Standards).

Additional Qualifications

• Permitting experience.
• Candidates responding to this posting must currently be eligible to work and remain in the European Union and UK without sponsorship.
• Experience in High Technology and Manufacturing facilities engineering and construction – especially Semiconductor Fabs.
• Previous Bechtel experience.
