As an HR Generalist you are a pivotal member of the People Team at KAYAK, providing consistent client support throughout the employee journey for the KAYAK Marketing, Commercial, and Technology teams. You will partner with colleagues and clients providing collaboration on projects and expert advice and guidance to the business. You serve as a key resource, partnering with others in the team to ensure seamless service delivery.
About Our Role:
Build trust-based relationships with employees in the assigned teams to implement initiatives that drive the development objectives of KAYAK
Provide advice and support to managers and individual contributors to address employee relations and performance gaps, including mitigating risk, terminations, and managing situations that result in the best possible outcomes for the company, teams, and people
Coach and advise managers on a variety of employee issues including but not limited to: compensation, performance, management and leadership style, and compliance
Proactively partner with colleagues across a global team to ensure an integrated approach to HR service delivery
Collaborate and partner with P&C colleagues in Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Compensation, Diversity & Inclusion, and HR Operations to implement solutions and help scale the business
Ensure accuracy/compliance of employee data and files through regular review and audit
Provide HR support regionally to US employees maintaining compliance with local laws and regulations
Ensure that exiting employees are managed appropriately including system notifications, conducting exit interviews, and performance improvement plans
Work as part of the wider P&C team to manage cyclical processes including but not limited to: engagement surveys, performance management and merit cycle processes
Provide expertise in development and execution, planning, and facilitation of employee growth and retention efforts
Focus on data driven decisions & recommendations to solve business challenges
Able to use data to assess the effectiveness of people practices, programs, and processes
Contribute to an HR strategy that delivers business results while promoting employee advocacy
Proactively contribute to the P&C agenda and P&C function
Please apply if:
BA/BS degree or equivalent
4+ years of demonstrated experience working as an HR Representative or equivalent in a generalist capacity
Expert knowledge of current employment legislation and an ability to apply this knowledge to real life employee relations issues
Ability to build solid relationships with the managers, people team, cross-functional internal partners and external providers/vendors
A client service bias, meeting and anticipating client needs
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Strong business acumen
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment ensuring integrity, compliance, & confidentiality
Ability to work independently and be proactive in a high-performance organization
High degree of adaptability and flexibility to change
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn our HRIS systems (Workday)
HR qualification e.g. PHR/ SHRM-CP a plus
Proficient with Google Suite / Microsoft Office Suite

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this United States located role is $84,000-$111,000.
In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible for additional compensation and benefits including: annual cash bonus; health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave and benefits.
