Job description
We have an exciting opportunity to join Gloucester’s largest Community Centre based in Churchdown. They are currently recruiting for a Finance Clerk to join their team as soon as possible. This role is office based and will include work for their Community Centre but also the trading arm in the form of their coffee shop and bar.
Ideally, they would like someone to work in the office Monday to Friday, 16 hours per week. Working times are negotiable for the right candidate.
Reporting to the Centre manager, the primary purpose of this role is to ensure that accounts payable transactions and payroll are carried out in a timely and highly accurate manner. You will work within a small friendly team who are focused on giving back to the community.
Responsibilities:
- Process orders and invoices
- Process payroll
- Managing petty cash transactions
- Sales ledger
- Bank reconciliations
- Finance administration
- Cash Control
- Produce VAT returns
- General duties
- Reviewing aged debit balances and communicating to organise refunds.
- Providing cover where needed, in times of high workload and holiday periods.
Candidate Attributes:
- Previous experience within an accounts assistant position
- Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts Package
- An enthusiastic approach to work
- Be AAT qualified or have adequate proven experience
- Experience with accounting systems and experience of Charity accounting would be an advantage
- Excellent numerical ability
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
Salary £18,000 to £21,000 Pro Rata dependent on experience.
