Job description
Notes: This is a full time post with 10 programmed activities to join the existing Consultants and Specialty Doctors within the Anaesthetic and Intensive Care Service at Antrim Hospital in NHSCT. The appointee, together with other Consultant colleagues, will be responsible for the management of the Anaesthetic Department on the Antrim Area site and the provision of the anaesthetic services for inpatient and day surgery theatres. Cover may also be required to support day surgery services on Whiteabbey and Mid Ulster sites. The post holder will contribute to the anaesthetic oncall rota, which will be expanding to 1:14 with this post. Alongside service provision there is the expectation to deliver training to the doctors in training rotating through the department. The Anaesthetic Department provides anaesthesia for a range of services, mainly including General Surgery, Colorectal, Gynaecology, Breast, ENT, Dental, Ophthalmology, ECT and MRI/CT. A waiting list may be compiled for similar permanent/temporary, full/part time posts which may arise within the next 6 months.
