Job description
Reporting to the Group Finance Director the Financial Controller, UK & EMEA is a senior finance role responsible for leading and developing a financial control team supporting multiple legal entities including China and Singapore. This role will perform consolidation activities working closely with the US and South African Financial Controllers to deliver all requirements as well as implementing and monitoring robust processes, controls and facilitating change and continuous improvements to support our strategic growth initiatives. Closely interacting with the wider global finance team, the Executive Leadership Team, and our Parent company for month end submissions and with external auditors and consultants for statutory compliance. This role is critical to the deliverance of quality monthly results, financial control and statutory submissions.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and mentoring a team of finance professionals across multiple sites globally.
- Driving financial controls and processes enhancement, ensuring compliance with both Biocair and Parent company compliance manuals.
- Ensuring detailed balance sheet reconciliations are undertaken in a standardized controlled manner with summary reporting for the Group Finance Director and CFO.
- Managing the financial accounting team and ensuring the timely and effective closure of month end reporting regimes and submission to Parent company. Working closely with FP&A on deliverance of all month end requirements.
- Controlling Intra Group Management Charging and developing a clear process in place for quarterly settlement of intragroup transactions.
- Ensuring all audits are progressed in a timely and accurate manner with support of Group Accountant to track all statutory submissions, clearly document key processes and drive continuous improvement in provision of detailed schedules.
- Supporting the set-up for any new entities ensuring financial controls are maintained and ability to report on new entity in a timely manner.
- Effectively managing financial compliance and risk actions – statutory compliance, provision management, and master data and being a key lead contact for audit, insurance and other compliance responsibilities as they arise.
- Managing treasury processes for end cash management.
- Assisting with the development of systems and initiatives relevant to enhancement of gross margin and statutory data, interacting as needed with broader business projects to drive financial control and efficiency of process.
- Driving collaboration with the rest of the UK Operation, in addition to other departments and offices on a global basis, to achieve Biocair’ s company objectives.
- Complying with, and implementing as required, all security policies and procedures applicable to your role and location (including Shipment, IT and Information Security).

In addition, you will demonstrate these key competencies:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA or equivalent).
- Knowledge of global trading, VAT and duty requirements and compliance.
- Knowledge of international statutory requirements and processes.
- Experience operating in matrix management dynamic environments.
- UK GAAP and IFRS reporting.
- Advanced Excel including pivot tables and V-lookups.
- Experience of using Sage X3 or similar system and TM-1 reporting tools is desirable.
- Experienced in managing, mentoring and coaching a diverse international team.
- Previous successful delivery of process improvement and change.

Please note this is a full time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30am to 17:30pm and the role is offered as hybrid from our Cambridge office (CB22 3EG) with up to 2 days per week working from home.
