About The Role

The Partnership for South Hampshire (PfSH) is looking for a project manager to assist in the delivery of a capital program of work arising from government funding through the Local Nutrient Mitigation Fund. This is a PfSH role hosted and managed by Fareham Borough Council.

PfSH is a public sector partnership, with this role working on behalf of eleven local authorities across the Solent area. The role will primarily support delivery of environmental schemes to facilitate sustainable development across South Hampshire.

Your role as a project manager will initially focus on establishing project documentation for projects within the program, as well as leading on delivery of specific projects.

Although no formal project management qualifications are required for this role, applicants should be able to demonstrate project management experience and have a sound understanding of project management principles. This role will lead on creating and maintaining project documentation.

Your role will also involve taking the lead on the management of new projects across multiple local authorities, and as such we particularly welcome applicants with strong experience of both working in local authorities, and of local authority governance. Ensuring that deadlines are met, engaging with senior managers within PfSH, and liaison with key partners and relevant external bodies will form a key part of the role.

You will need the ability to manage competing demands on your time, as well a good understanding of commercial principles.

This is your opportunity to play your part in shaping the future of environmental mitigation in south Hampshire - so we’ll welcome your fresh ideas and innovative spirit.

The successful candidate will be required to have a presence in the Fareham Borough Council Offices at least once a week, and at selected meetings within South Hampshire, as appropriate. Subject to further funding there is significant potential for this role to become permanent. We would be willing to consider part time applications with a minimum of 30 hours per week.

We offer a great pension scheme, authorised parking, flexible working and a car lease scheme to name a few of the benefits of working for us. We take pride in receiving feedback from others who say we are a friendly and professional organisation.
