About the role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Administrator to join our Highways HSES Central Admin Team (H-CAT).

The role will be based on the M1, J10 -13 project in Bedfordshire.

The role will occasionally help to cover other Highways schemes throughout England.

This role will provide administrative services to project based HSES teams on all aspects of HSES, including development and administration of HSES documentation, meeting legal and company standards and helping to deliver a culture of continual improvement.

Working in the team and liaising with HSES Leads, Advisors and others to ensure business and legal requirements are complied with, and support on site mitigation, sustainability of works and engagement with site teams, supply chain, and our clients.

What you'll be doing

End of Month Reports

• Complete HSES reports and ensure all Highways end of month project reports have been completed, approved by HSES Leads, and uploaded the required systems prior to deadlines.
• Collaborate with our Data Analyst and Training Coordinator regarding any trends as required.

Campaigns

• Update Perfect Days information from reported incident data and share to wider HSES team
• Assist with the creation and distribution of Health, Safety, Environmental and Wellbeing Campaigns

Observations

• Categorise observations across all Highways Projects and re-categorise them for the reports that have different category types.
• Assist the project in ensuring observations are closed out effectively

Competency Compliance

• Assist with the processing of induction bookings across all projects
• Liaise with project teams as required
• Update profiles as required

Highways Passport

• Administer the Highways Passport for Balfour Beatty staff
• Carry out Passport renewal checks and process accordingly
• Attend HPA review meetings

Specific Project Support

• Provide specific HSES Administrative support as required

Incidents

• Upload and chase close outs as required

General Tasks

• Carrying out assigned Highways Projects administration tasks
• Highways Passport Administration support
• H-CAT tasks cover for team absences

Who we're looking for

The successful applicant will need:

• Strong Administrative Experience
• Good knowledge of Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability issues
• Understanding of the Construction operating environment
• High level in MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Forms, Power BI, Power Apps)
• Full UK Driving Licence and flexibility to travel
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively, independently, and remotely where required
• Ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively
