A vacancy has arisen within our Home Oxygen Service for a motivated, innovative and enthusiastic person to join our highly skilled specialist team.
The team deliver a high standard of respiratory care within various health care venues and in the patients’ home.
The post will involve working with the respiratory multi-disciplinary team to assess patients Home Oxygen needs and subsequently implement plans and manage treatment, supporting both admission avoidance and ultimately improve quality of life for patients.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong clinical knowledge of respiratory disease to develop their skills and expertise in respiratory care.
The successful candidate will be confident and experienced in organising initial assessments, treatment and evaluation of care for patients at various local clinic bases or at patient’s home. This is an exciting opportunity to support clinical development in the team. Experience of working with patients with long-term health respiratory conditions, such as COPD, Asthma and Emphysema will be advantageous.

A highly motivated and flexible first level nurse/therapist to work with the support of the Oxygen Team and the Team Leader across the Blackburn with Darwen area to deliver an effective, efficient and safe service for all oxygen patients registered with a Blackburn with Darwen GP.
To provide specialist-respiratory contribution to the clinical management and education of patients with various respiratory conditions. Working in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and colleagues in both hospital and community setting in line with local and national guidelines.
To participate in the ongoing development of an alternative to hospitalisation with an overall aim to improve the health of new and existing patients with oxygen in the primary care setting resulting in a reduction of acute hospital admissions to secondary care.
To take shared responsibility for the assessment, planning and evaluation of care for patients who have complex respiratory problems. Support the medical management of this patient group, along with the provision of education and support to other health professionals, families and carers.. The role will also involve CPD, clinical audit and research and development.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
