Job description
As a volunteer, you will serve as an advocate for clients/patients, all the work is virtual. Full training will be provided by HHP. Volunteers for this position should have excellent customer service, computer and communication skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a patient advocate
Agree and commit to a regular volunteer schedule of tasks and a minimum of 2 hours per week for at least six months. Tasks could include:
Answering emails
Answering calls
Assisting workshops
Marketing support
Technical support
Outreach support
Refer patients to HHP resources as needed
Be open to learning about how to work with marginalized communities
Learn and operate the patient intake/management system
Learn basics on Insurance policies and procedures
Collaborate on projects with different HHP teams (e.g. Partnerships & BD, Marketing, etc.)
Complete patient advocate volunteer training
Timely and clear communication
Be knowledgeable of and abide by the HHP Confidentiality Policies and Procedures
Attend regular check-ins with HHP volunteer coordinator
Volunteers for this position should have excellent customer service, computer and communication skills
Have reliable transportation
Volunteers must pass a criminal background check, complete a volunteer application packet and attend a new volunteer orientation session
COMMITMENT
Volunteers are required to dedicate 2 hours per week for 6 months. Please communicate with the volunteer coordinator to discuss any inability to meet this commitment.
Serve a minimum of 50 hours working on assigned projects, tasks, and responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Secondary school/high school completion required
Must be over the age of 18
Some college coursework preferred
Case management experience preferred
Adaptability when dealing with constantly changing processes, computer systems
Ability to do simple mathematics
Exemplary critical thinking skills
Proficient experience utilizing G Suite with emphasis on Google Docs and Sheets
Exemplary communication skills, both orally and written, to a variety of individuals
Ability to multitask
Ability to function and make appropriate decisions in a fast paced environment
Knowledge of other languages helpful but not required
