Part Time Permanent Senior Teaching Assistant - Working 2 days/week Job Information:
Birkett House is a very popular and successful all age special school for pupils with learning difficulties. We are a multi-sited school in South Leicestershire with the main school site in Wigston and inclusion units at Thistly Meadow Primary School (Blaby), Little Hill Primary School (Wigston), Thomas Estley Community College (Broughton Astley) and a purpose-built Senior Department based in Countesthorpe.
We require a part time Senior Teacher Assistant working 2 days/week within our Senior Department in Countesthorpe (Key stages 3,4 and 5, Years 8-14).
A Senior Teaching Assistant is an integral member of a class team who works to closely support the teacher in providing the teaching & learning of children and directing other teaching assistants operating within the class team. The school provides a comprehensive professional development programme. Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification for further information about the role.
Qualifications required: NVQ level 3 (or working towards this level) or equivalent higher qualification
Maths and English qualification to NVQ level 2.

Contract term Permanent, term time onlySalary Starting Salary grade 7, point 11-14.
Working hours : 13.5 hrs/wk.
Pro rata salary for example based on 13.5 hours per week and term time contract - actual salary starts at £7,716 (F.T.E. £24,708).
