Job description
New contract opening to join one of Europe's largest fuel storage and logistics businesses.
You will be an experienced Control and Instrument Engineer with PLC/SCADA experience with knowledge of the COMAH regulations.
This role will be a mix of home based plus regular site travel (covering the client's southern region)
Rate: Between £500 - 600 per day

The Role
- Support the project teams by providing the onsite C&I engineering lead, ensuring that risks to operation of plant and equipment are recognised, assessed, and mitigated.
- Provide onsite C&I engineering design and support; specifically brown fields signal and cable investigations, clarification of existing documenation and development of revised documentation for the ABB migration and EC&I Continuation Projects.
- Develop migration plans and solutions for efficient migrations ensuring business continuity and systems that operate effectively, efficiently, and safely.
- Assisting in development of and ensuring that C&I design standards are adhered to.
- Provide technical support to maintenance teams, operations and wider Technology team.
- Manage on site subcontractors for field equipment installation, control systems and industrial network installation and commissioning
Key responsibilities -
- Review/develop C&I P&ID modifications, C&E diagrams, instruments datasheets, hook-up drawings, loop drawings, power and control cable specs, load lists, SLD's, cable schedules
- Produce/review engineering deliverables including: Datasheets, Loop Drawings, Cable Schedules, Junction Box Schedules, Instrument Layout Drawings, Cable Routing Drawings, Intrinsic Safety Calculations, and Instrument Hook-up drawings
- Review installation designs and resolve issues
- Develop installation commissioning plans
- Provide DCS and SIS systems / PLC and SCADA systems support
- Attend and sign off FAT's
- Supervise on site works, field equipment installation, control systems and industrial network installation and commissioning, SAT sign off.
- Fault finding and troubleshooting of control and instrumentation equipment with comprehensive reporting
Experience required
- 5-10 yrs C&I working experience with relevant qualifications, degree or equivalent and applicable industry-based experience
- Experience in hazardous area equipment selection
- Experience in design and modifications to control systems - DCS/ESD/SIS and PLC/SCADA
- Basic knowledge of cyber security standards
- Significant experience of DCS/SCADA/PLC support, fault finding and setup & configuration of instrumentation and systems (Pakscan, condition monitoring, etc)
- Knowledge of COMAH regulations
