Job description
We are seeking to appoint an innovative Computing and IT teacher to join our team. The Oratory Prep School (The OPS) has a fantastic local and national reputation as one of the country’s leading prep schools, which educates children from 2 – 13. As you can imagine, our fantastic teachers and superb resources and facilities provide our children with unique opportunities, and our staff with wonderful tools to support learning. We have created this new and exciting role to focus on preparing our children for their world, and we are now looking for a teacher for these key areas:

Functions
Support the Headmaster in ensuring the vision for the school is clearly articulated, shared, understood and acted upon effectively by all.
Be responsible for the education and welfare of a class of children as designated by the Headmaster, having due regard to the requirements of the National Curriculum, the school’s agreed aims, objectives and schemes of work and any policies of the school or the governing body (Bellevue Education).
Share in the corporate responsibility for the well-being and discipline of all children. Contribute to the ethos of the school in a positive, supportive and collaborative way, and represent the school positively in the wider community.
Be a Teaching and Learning Coach in Computer Science who will challenge learners at all levels and ensure effective corrective action and follow-up.
Qualities & Skills
Be able to work on his/her own initiative in the execution of the duties outlined below. Be committed to a process of continuous improvement and the raising of standards in attainment within the school.
Be able to relate effectively to staff, children, parents/guardians and members of the general public.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure high quality teaching and learning provision in ‘Innovation sessions’.
Technological Integration:
Promote the integration of technology across the curriculum, collaborating with other teachers to enhance cross-disciplinary learning opportunities.
Extra-curricular Activities:
Organise and lead extra-curricular clubs or activities focused on technological development, fostering pupils' interest and enthusiasm for Information technology.
Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology, and education, participating in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Parent and Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, guardians, and school stakeholders to keep them informed about pupil progress, including online safety.
To foster the aims and ethos of the school, promoting and disseminating good practice and high standards by regular teaching and providing an excellent role model. To be accountable to the Headmaster for the teaching of designated curriculum areas to a class or subject group.
To ensure the school curriculum and its delivery meet the requirements of the National Curriculum and school policies.
