Job description

The Senior Policy Analyst role sits within our Data, Analytics & Research function. You will be responsible for the dissemination of products being used to make evidence-based decisions for our policy and transformation colleagues. This includes using visualisation tools such as Power BI to produce headline answers to the questions asked primarily by policy colleagues. You will have the opportunity to work and iterate in this area, embedding a culture of continuous improvement.

As a Senior Data Policy Analyst, you will be expected to:

  1. Lead on the delivery of short-term analytical strategic projects.
  2. These projects arise from a range of internal stakeholders and focus on making continual improvements to the data quality of the Companies House register. There is a focus on high-quality analysis, with short concise reports and visualisations which help to identify practical ways to implement changes to systems and processes.
  3. Deliver analytical projects.
  4. Applying statistical understanding and reasoning to analysis commissions from governance and project boards. There is a focus on high-quality analysis, with short concise reports which help to identify practical ways to implement changes to systems and processes.
  5. Oversee the team, providing guidance and support to two Band D (HEO) analysts.
  6. Lead on analysis to support policy and transformation initiatives.
  7. This role will have ownership of a range of products, supporting the policy colleagues from gathering requirements and practical research questions to presenting the findings and creating self-service products.
  8. Develop excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  9. Good stakeholder management skills are essential to be able to explain complex, technical concepts and problems to non-technical colleagues. Work collaboratively with internal customers such as Policy areas and teams contributing to transformation work.
