Early applications are encouraged as we reserve the right to close the advertisement and interview earlier than stated.
We are looking for an Analyst to join the Strategic Research team. The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the heart of one of the UK’s largest housing associations.
The housing sector is at a pivotal moment. Social landlords are facing significant challenges as they strive to improve services, the safety and quality of their buildings, and deliver the affordable homes the country desperately needs. L&Q is currently the chair of the G15 group of London's largest housing associations, and in a position of some influence, with a general election approaching. The Strategic Research Team plays a critical role in supporting the G15 work, and this role offers a real opportunity for impact.
As well as supporting the chairing of the G15, the role of the team is to translate what is happening in the world of policy, society and the economy for L&Q, as well as using research to influence our external environment. You will be part of a small team that carries out an important and high-profile role. The team’s regular tasks include:
- Horizon scanning to support Executive and Group Board in strategy setting
- Managing responses to consultations and calls for evidence
- Carrying out housing market monitoring and analysis
- Equipping colleagues to understand and effectively respond to changes in the world of policy, society and the economy
- Evaluating current/new housing products against housing need in the areas L&Q operates in
- Delivering L&Q’s thought leadership programme
For the next 18 months during L&Q’s stint as chair of the G15, there will be a strong focus on building and maintaining external stakeholder relationships, and liaising with other policy and research leads at peer landlords on consultation responses and influencing pieces.
Reporting into the Strategic Research Manager, you will work alongside another Analyst and an Assistant Analyst. The team forms part of the Research and Accountability team within the Governance and Transformation directorate, which is a relatively recently established department bringing together resident involvement, customer insight and research functions, to help enhance L&Q’s decision-making at a strategic level. You will also need to work closely and maintain strong working relationships with the Strategy team, Communications team and other people in analytical roles around the business.
This is a skilled role which requires someone who has a strong understanding of (or interest in) the housing sector, demonstrable analytical skills and an ability to influence a range of stakeholders, including senior leaders.
We are specifically looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:
· Experience of carrying out research and analysis projects (preferably in a housing context)
· Demonstrable skills in analysing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative evidence from multiple sources, and presenting the findings in an accessible way
· Strong written & oral communication skills, and an ability to tailor communication to different audiences
· Stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
· A strong understanding of the housing sector and context in which social landlords are currently operating
· Some experience of project management
If you are interested in this role and have the experience required, then apply without delay!
At the foundation of everything that we do are our corporate values and associated behaviours. Our organisational behavioural framework outlines the core expectations of all employees, which should be demonstrated at all times when representing L&Q. More information about L&Q’s values can be found on our website and a copy of our behavioural framework can be provided on request.

It's only by investing in a well-trained and motivated workforce that we can continue to prosper and sustain business success.
In addition to our support and training, the successful candidate will have access to our full suite of benefits including 26 days holiday rising to 31 days with length of service, annual bonus subject to group performance, excellent Pension scheme, Benenden Healthcare, an employee assistance programme and non-contributory life assurance.

Please let us know during the recruitment process if you’re interested in part time working or job sharing.
