Analytics Data Engineer
Location: Birmingham / Hybrid Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + 10% Bonus Analytics Engineer / Analytics Data Engineer / Data Engineer / PowerBI / AWS / SQL / Data Warehouse
Opportunity: A fantastic opportunity has come up for an Analytics Engineer to join an ambitious team with responsibility for making sure that both their drivers and customers are happy.
As a Data Engineer, you will work across the projects and functions teams, helping to solve advanced questions and also steer the business to data-based decision-making through technical insights. This role will also be fast-paced and needs a self-starter who can manage their workload and shift priorities day to day.
What You’ll Be Doing in the role: - Create, design, and develop data models and report views in AWS Redshift that can be analysed effectively in Redshift and Power BI.
- Set – up, configure, administer, and troubleshoot in AWS Redshift.
- Responsible for efficiently and securely ingesting data into Amazon Redshift, ensuring the data is correctly formatted, transformed, and loaded into the data warehouse. This includes developing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes to facilitate the timely and accurate transfer of data into Redshift.
- Conduct UAT of new data pipelines, validating and analysing results to ensure data integrity and usability.
- Monitor daily loads and support the Dev Ops/Data Analysts on any issues, failures and resolving with system owners.
- Develop and implement dashboards and data visualisations to showcase analytics and insight, using Power BI.
- Support business users in their understanding of data available, produce ERDs, data dictionaries, document known issues and contribute to resolving them.
What Skills Do You Need to Succeed:
- In-depth knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with visualisation tools such as Tableau / Power BI.
- You will be tenacious and committed to producing results with the ability to persevere with a challenge and see it through to the end.
- Proficiency in data warehousing (AWS Redshift or similar) and data modeling, involving the design and enhancement of data structures to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
