Could you help us to develop regulation and policies to improve the inclusion of staff and students from diverse backgrounds in post-16 education, training and research in Wales?
We are looking for an Equality and Inclusion Manager to work with us to support the higher education sector in Wales to widen access and promote equality of opportunity in post-16 education, training and research.
Working with the Head of Widening Access and Inclusion, you will contribute to developing and implementing regulation and policies relating to equality, diversity and student welfare in the post-16 education, training and research contexts. You will be responsible for the day to day management of policies relating to equality of opportunities, including anti-racism, safe and inclusive higher education and student welfare. This post will contribute to the delivery of our inclusion priorities for staff and students as they relate to the Higher Education (Wales) 2022 Act, the Equality Act, 2010, the Well-being of Future Generations Act 2015, as well as the Welsh Government’s equality and diversity strategies and plans.
To be successful in this role, you will need experience of developing policy and interpreting legislation and research evidence, informed by your knowledge of equality of opportunity, social inclusion and social mobility priorities and typical interventions, in post-16 education and training ideally in a further or higher education context. The regulation and policies developed will make a difference to staff and students in post-16 education, training and research, but your points of contact will be organisation such as universities and colleges, Welsh Government and other key partners, including UK- and Wales-based organisations. This post will not deliver activity or train staff or students in the post-16 education and training sectors.
Key activities in the role are developing regulation and policy, analysing, interpreting and monitoring information, data and evidence submitted to us, preparing reports, briefings and information to shape our policies, providing advice to committees and sharing good practice, as well as liaising with external partners. To deliver this brief, you will need equality and diversity policy knowledge, effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to analyse, interpret and present complex information confidently and clearly. You will be able to work on your own initiative, and as part of a team, to prioritise work and deliver it effectively often within short time limits. The ability to communicate bilingually in Welsh and English is desirable.

Ni fydd y swydd hon yn cyflawni gweithgarwch nac yn hyfforddi staff na myfyrwyr yn y sectorau addysg ôl-16 a hyfforddiant.
Gweithgareddau allweddol yn y rôl yw datblygu trefn reoleiddio a pholisi, dadansoddi, dehongli a monitro gwybodaeth, data a thystiolaeth a gyflwynir i ni, paratoi adroddiadau, papurau briffio a gwybodaeth i drefnu ein polisïau, rhoi cyngor i bwyllgorau a rhannu arfer da, yn ogystal â chynnal cyswllt â phartneriaid allanol. I gyflawni’r briff yma, bydd arnoch angen gwybodaeth am bolisi cydraddoldeb ac amrywiaeth, sgiliau cyfathrebu llafar ac ysgrifenedig effeithiol, a’r gallu i ddadansoddi, dehongli a chyflwyno gwybodaeth gymhleth yn hyderus ac yn glir. Byddwch yn gallu gweithio o’ch pen a’ch pastwn eich hun, ac fel rhan o dîm, i flaenoriaethu gwaith a’i gyflawni’n effeithiol yn aml o fewn terfynau amser byr.
