Role: SEN Caseworker
Duration: until 28/06/202

IR35: Inside
Rate: £302.82
Experience required:
- A detailed understanding of and the ability to apply the requirements of the SEN statutory framework (Children and Families Act 2014, The Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014 and the SEN code of Practice) and Hampshire County Council’s policies and procedures, including those for school transport
- A knowledge of the wider issues related to the provision of education services, the maintained school system and social inclusion
- Recommending improvements for processes and procedures that contribute to the efficient and effective running of the team/service
- Advice and support parents through the EHC assessment process
- Attending annual review meetings and case planning meetings, acting as the local education authority’s representative. This requires a thorough knowledge of SEN and related matters acquired through training and experience. The annual review meeting takes place in the school and is attended by the headteacher/SENCo, parents, educational psychologist and health/social
- services professionals. The purpose of the meeting is to consider the child’s EHC Plan in the light of work and progress and to make recommendations about provision, placement and earning/behaviour objectives. for the next year
- Albeit within a procedural framework, managing SEN casework of a set number of cases within a locality
