Debt Recovery Officer

£17 to £23 per hour depending on experience

Cobalt PS are looking for an Interim candidate who has extensive experience with Public Sector Debt Recovery and experience of submitting cases to court.

The ideal candidate will have and have worked previously within a housing association or local authority previously and has managed rent accounts and other housing related debts

2 days required on site based in City of London

Job Summary

• Negotiate repayment agreements with tenants and take corrective action where such agreements are not maintained

• Refer residents to welfare benefit and debt support services

• Prepare and submit cases to the County Court for Possession Hearings and attend court hearings and carry out evictions due to rent arrears.

• Maximize income collection while minimising the risk of repossession through making use of direct housing payments, charitable applications, food bank referrals and any other means of financial support available.

• Deliver income management services while demonstrating high standards of customer care.
