Do you enjoy working with students and supporting them in their learning? If yes, then we may have an exciting opportunity for you!

Hays Education are looking for design technology technicians to join our dynamic and creative team within our school based in the Preston area. You will be responsible for providing timely and effective technical assistance to all design technology teaching staff, supporting them in achieving the aims and objectives of the department and the school.

Your new role

• Preparing, setting up and checking equipment for various lessons including art, textiles, food, product design and resistant materials
• Supporting teaching staff and students during lessons with anything practical
• Putting away equipment after lessons and ensuring a safe environment
• Organising and storing equipment and checking stock
• Repairing, maintaining and modifying equipment as needed
• Administrative tasks such as ordering materials, keeping records and updating resources
• Organising and storing students' work

What you'll need to succeed

• Relevant qualifications in art, design or technology related activities or equivalent experience
• Good knowledge of art or design technology techniques, equipment and materials
• Commitment to health and safety in schools
• Strong commitment to supporting students' learning and achievement
