About the role:
The Management Accountant will play a leading role in supporting the growth of the business, driving business improvements, and taking ownership for a mixture of financial and management reporting. It is an exciting hands-on role working directly with the Finance Director to develop a best-in-class function so that the business can scale.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting and month close activities, supported by qualitative analysis and preparation of annual statutory accounts.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounts processes and internal controls.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and monitor variances to actuals.
- Work closely with internal team to identify project profitability and analyse the
data to deliver meaningful financial information to the management team.
- Prepare financial models to evaluate sales opportunities, product development decisions and potential risks.
- Development and monitoring of business KPI’s reporting.
- Streamline processes to assist with revenue recognition and cost accruals.
- Prepare and submit HMRC returns (VAT, Corp tax inc R&D)
- Support the annual Audit process and deliverables.
Key skills and attributes:
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification and experience in a similar role
- Effective communication skills to work with colleagues at all levels within the business.
- Self-starter with an eye for details and determination to deliver accurate, timely and informative results.
- Ability to work under pressure in a commercial environment to tight deadlines.
- A strong and demonstrable understanding of the SaaS B2B industry, including its revenue models, pricing structures, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Proficiency in financial modelling and Microsoft Excel
- Hands on, can do attitude and able to act as deputy to the Finance Director.
