Job description
Oncology patients attend the Outpatient Department for consultations with their Oncologist and team. They also have supportive hormonetherapies: sub-cut/IM injections. We help patients organise their appointments and their journey through the Oncology pathway. We also manage the running and prep for the clinics. On average 250 patients a day attend the Oncology Outpatient Department for consultations, injections, Central line care and/or phlebotomy services.We offer supportive therapies in our nurse led clinics administering up to 8 different types of injections both intramuscular and subcutaneous.Preparations for these clinics include checking blood results, authorising injections and printing prescriptions. This helps to reduce delays, andensure patients are seen in a timely manner. We also provide verbal and written information regarding their injections and offer any further supportand advice our patients may need. You will also be required to support staff and take an active role in band 6 management duties. Experience within oncology is essential for this post.
