Our client is looking for a Cost Controller (Joint Venture) for a 12 month contract position, located in Aberdeen (Hybrid Working)
Working within the Hub asset and interfacing directly with budget owners, the Cost Controller is responsible for managing an annual opex budget of circa £100M with a focus on Operations, Maintenance and Asset Integrity for both the company and JV partner assets. Strict cost control protocols will be used to develop a robust annual budget and reporting system. The cost controller will lead all elements of expenditure, variation control and cost forecasting to ensure finances are in good order and aligned with workscope requirements.

Our client is looking for a Cost Controller (Joint Venture) for a 12 month contract position, located in Aberdeen (Hybrid Working)
ROLE
Working within the Hub asset and interfacing directly with budget owners, the Cost Controller is responsible for managing an annual opex budget of circa £100M with a focus on Operations, Maintenance and Asset Integrity for both the company and JV partner assets. Strict cost control protocols will be used to develop a robust annual budget and reporting system. The cost controller will lead all elements of expenditure, variation control and cost forecasting to ensure finances are in good order and aligned with workscope requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and roll-out, and govern effective Cost Management Processes and Procedures to the business
- Support the implementation of best practice cost control and forecasting across the business
- Responsible for accurate cost reporting of Operations, Maintenance, Asset Integrity budget to include Forecast, Value of Work Done and Commitments against approved Budget
- Support the JV cost control process to maximise cost recovery from JV partners including the development of a cost recovery model supporting annual audits.
- Ensure accurate monthly accruals submitted to Finance
- Ensure shared costs are re-allocated as appropriate, and recharged to partners.
- Provide robust variance analysis to Finance
- Identify and support opportunities for cost efficiencies whilst maintaining safety and integrity
- Support annual budget build for relevant Budget area
- Review and advise on key vendor contract remuneration models
- Lead and drive budget meetings with budget holders
- Provide Support to Contract Owners and Supply Chain with Supplier Performance Relationship Management (SPRM), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), FPAL evaluations, cost benefit analysis, bid analysis, commercial negotiations, variations, invoice queries/disputes, PO Management, and vendor setup
- Champion compliance with supply chain and R2P processes
- Participate in all appropriate internal and supplier meetings
- Deputise for Cost Engineering Lead as required
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, or Quantity Surveying preferred, however applicants holding another relevant qualification with 5-10 years relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply.

Work Experience
- Applicant must have 5-10 years of experience in Cost Control or Commercial Administration, with a strong preference for a candidate with experience both in Operator and Contractor organisations in the Oil and Gas sector.
- Candidate must have experience in the Budgeting, Forecasting, and Cost Control of Operations budgets with hands on experience setting up, controlling, reporting and closing out costs against cost centers, with a strong understanding of the nuance between each process and method.
- Must have experience in Post-Contract Administration and Cost Control of Asset Integrity, Fabric Maintenance and Anomalies, and be comfortable negotiating with, challenging and holding the Contractor to account in these areas.
- Must be a competent Microsoft Excel and SAP user.
