Job description

Main Responsibilities (depending on qualification): Working as a midwife/nurse or Allied Health Professional (AHP) the postholder will; Fulfil the role of a midwife/nurse as defined by the World Health Organisation and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Midwifery Rules and Code of Practice and reflect the Trust's guidelines, policies and standards of practice Work closely with the stakeholders involved in the Maternity Incentive Scheme (MIS) to ensure they are aware of what evidence is required to meet each safety action of the scheme Be responsible for receiving and communicating complex information required for each safety action of the scheme ensuring the information received is accurate and meets the needs of the scheme Require good concentration skills to review and analyse the data submitted as evidence Ensure the evidence required for the MIS is submitted in a timely manner. Identify any gaps of non-compliance and escalate appropriately Prepare draft reports and action plans for Trust and local level committees as required Maintain effective channels of communication both within and external to the Trust Provide leadership and expert advice on delivering key national and local quality priorities jointly with the Quality Assurance & Improvement Midwife, Obstetric Clinical Governance Lead, Obstetric Quality Improvement Lead and Maternity Clinical Governance Manager Liaise with OUH colleagues and other professional and non-professional agencies relevant to the needs of women to ensure health and social care needs are addressed as appropriate Supervise, support, guide, assist in the development of and assess the competency of midwives and junior medical staff Ensure that all care programmes are accurately documented and that the standard of record keeping reflects the NMC and Trust guidelines and standards Monitor and evaluate clinical standards within the department, ensuring that clinical practices are evidence-based and benchmarked against best practice locally, regionally and nationally
