Our client is a state-of-the-art factory which proudly achieved European Plant of the Year in 2023. They are looking to employ a Sales Director with proven sales experience ideally in the print and packaging sectors to drive forward, improve and manage all aspects of sales. The successful individual will be a member of the senior management team reporting directly to the General Manager. They will play a key role in the setting and achieving of sale objectives, setting clear objectives and strategies for, and support to, individual and collective clients.
Key job requirements
The main responsibilities will include:
- Define the commercial strategy of our client in collaboration with the General Manager, establishing the necessary commercial plans to enable sales growth.
- Grow & maintain excellent customer relationships, ensure that customer issues have a strong presence in Management decisions & meetings.
- Set appropriate KRA’s and KPI’s with the sales team of 8 direct reports, which include target markets that are aligned to our client’s plant capabilities.
- Agree on local marketing initiatives.
- Preparing winning value selling proposals.
- Provide accurate sales forecasting to enable effective plant loading and balance.
- Develop account strategies to achieve sales targets.
- Manage sales budgets in relation for volume and profit margin.
- Effective link particularly the SKUK/IR Print Division, National and PES/MNA Sales teams.
- Ensure our client is well represented both internally and externally.
- Ensure that that a healthy sales pipeline is in place. Understand the need and deliver sales that fulfil the overall business needs in terms of profit, capabilities and balance, sustainability, and value creation. Ensure robust procedures are in place and adhered to.
- Managing and directing the sales activities of the business; external sales, commercial and design.
- Develop and implement the overall sales strategy and work with sales managers to build account plans for all major accounts.
- Develop, present, and achieve the annual sales volume budget.
- Help support and develop investment plans with a clear vision for future growth & positioning in key market sectors.
- Building strong and active marketing plan fully utilising local and national resource to develop and support new business.
- Work closely & build intercompany relationships with other businesses in the group to work on joint opportunities and engage in best practices & successes.
Person Specification
- Effective communicator.
- Proven track record managing sales teams and developing new business from the FMCG/Beverages/Food/Healthcare related market sectors.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver a vision and strategy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Analytically minded and confident with complex data and ambiguity.
- Excellent leadership and management skills with experience in managing sales, people, budget, and target achievement.
- Proven direct selling skills and have a good working knowledge of Company finance.
- Can be “tough-minded” when required and carries sufficient credibility and gravitas when dealing with business.
- Must be a confident decision maker and innovative.
- Good operation knowledge of computer tools (MS Office) and experience with CRM solutions.
