Top City law firm is seeking an Information Governance Manager to join their renowned Risk & Compliance team in London, with the experience and gravitas to be their subject matter expert on information governance and data privacy best practice.
- Salary of up to £85,000 plus excellent benefits
- Hybrid working pattern of three days in the office

The Information Governance Manager is responsible for developing policies and processes globally to decrease risks and costs associated with, data privacy and information governance. You will work closely with the firm's IT, and Risk & Compliance departments and assist with the programmatic direction and oversight of personnel involved in the delivery of information governance services in the firm's offices.
Information Governance Manager Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Set IG programme goals and objectives in the firm's offices globally that support and enhance compliance with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements of the firm and its clients.
- Develop procedures and processes for ensuring the classification, confidentiality, data privacy, data protection, retention and disposition of client and firm information.
- Take ownership of privacy compliance requirements including breach management, data subject access requests and records of processing activity compliance.
- Assist senior management and lawyers in identifying and containing risks relating to data privacy and data protection.
- Support internal, client and regulatory audits into firm's compliance for information governance and privacy.
- Develop and implement plans, strategies, and policies that improve the firm's posture as it relates to information governance, data privacy, data protection, and other information governance functions and services.
Information Governance Manager Desired Requirements:
- Experience in information governance, records management, data privacy, data protection or related area.
- Ideally experience gained working within a legal, professional services or corporate environment
- Significant experience within data privacy.
- An advanced degree in an information governance-related field or law is desired.
- Broad knowledge of information governance, data privacy, and data protection laws, regulations, and best practices.
