Fawkes & Reece are working with a well regarded, medium sized main contractor that has a requirement for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work on an exciting residential project in the Cambridge region.
You will be joining a dynamic, progressive and highly successful business that holds a strong reputation for well built developments, offering a stable progressive career for the right individual. As the Quantity Surveyor within this team, you will be working working on a new build residential scheme consisting of both RC frame and Traditional build housing with 295 units in total. You will be working as a strong number two on the scheme, reporting into a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Daily duties will include procurement of sub contractors, working on re-measurable packages, handing variations and change, issuing contracts, cost reporting and managing all other commercial and financial aspects of the scheme with the Senior QS. The suitable candidate will have good exposure to new build projects, ideally within the residential sector. However, people from an education, health care or commercial projects background will also be considered for this role. You will have strong exposure to remeasuring packages and will hold experience gained with a main contractor. You will ideally have a construction related degree, however this is not essential for the right candidate. You will be a self motivated, career minded individual with a stable career history and the ability to work self sufficiently.
