Does the idea of joining a prestigious, Edinburgh based Law firm as Tax Manager sound exciting? This highly regarded and reputable firm are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join the Tax team on a full-time permanent basis. Hybrid and flexible working is available. Applications will be accepted from individuals looking to make the transition from Accountancy practice.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit annual tax returns for individuals and trusts promptly.
- Negotiate correct tax liabilities with HMRC within set time limits.
- Offer proactive advice on tax mitigation and organize clients’ tax affairs, providing ad-hoc advice as needed.
- Maintain internal records and promptly respond to clients’ and HMRC’s queries.
- Review and update client files regularly to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Complete draft Tax Returns forms, prepare investment income schedules, and calculate Capital Gains Tax.
- Client Tax Returns, ensuring timely tax repayments.
- Stay updated on relevant tax legislation and rules, participating in training sessions and mentoring junior employees.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role at Assistant Manager or Manager level with expertise in Personal Tax, UK Income Tax, and Capital Gains.
- Preferably ATT and/or CIOT qualified, with a commitment to staying updated on tax laws.
- Strong processing skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
