About the role

We are looking for a motivated individual to join the Advancement Office at the University of Bath.

The Prospect Research Officer will identify, research and qualify potential donors and supporters including individuals, companies and trusts and foundations for the University of Bath, helping grow philanthropic income to support the University’s ambitions. This role might be known as a Prospect Development Officer, Prospect Researcher, Fundraising Intelligence Officer, Research Analyst or Business Intelligence Officer in other organisations and sectors.

Your focus as the Prospect Research Officer will be to identify and research potential donors and supporters who can help the University meet its strategic objectives.

You will work both independently and collaboratively, ensuring an effective flow of communication to and from fundraisers to maximise opportunities with prospects.

With excellent organisational skills, you will demonstrate a good use of initiative and have the ability to multi-task and prioritise multiple demands on your time. You will be passionate about research and have the ability to distil large amounts of information into succinct briefings for varied stakeholders. Attention to detail and excellent research skills are essential.

The University offers its students a well-rounded education: high-quality teaching from research-led academics; award-winning sports facilities; placements as an integral part of every undergraduate course; and a substantial and growing range of options for postgraduate study — the result is a very engaged student body with strong values and excellent levels of student satisfaction. The excellent education and student support have also resulted in an engaged and supportive alumni community, who are playing a vital role in helping develop Advancement Office plans for Philanthropy.

This role is offered on a full-time (36.5 hours per week) permanent basis, with hybrid working available. For an informal discussion about the role, contact Fungai Muteke, Prospect Research Manager. All applications should be submitted through the university website.
