We are searching for an exceptional creative compassionate individual who wants to make a difference to babies/children/young people and their families who are approaching the end of their lives by supporting the specialist multi-disciplinary team to create memories that will last a lifetime for the whole family.
A significant part of this role will be supporting siblings before, during and after end of life so being able to work with children of different ages and engaging at different levels whether that be practical, social or emotionally will be key.

We appreciate that working in a Children and young adult hospice is very different to that of the NHS and sometimes applicants are not sure whether their skill set will meet the needs of the post. We hold Claire House values central to our recruitment process. Therefore, shortlisted candidates are invited to spend time at Claire House during the interview process. This will consist of; having a tour of the hospice, spending time with a mix of hospice staff and service users to find out more about the role, having time to ask questions in a more relaxed environment. There will be a short interview, for which, each candidate will have time to consider the questions and reflect on their experiences to support their answers.

We are looking for a creative, compassionate and dynamic support worker to work as part of the Rapid Response Palliative Care multidisciplinary team in all Claire House settings: Wirral Hospice, Liverpool Day therapy unit and community to plan, coordinate and implement all memory making activities for babies, children and young adults approaching the end of their life.
Alongside memory making, a key part of this role will be supporting families practically, socially and emotionally playing particular attention to siblings before, during and after the end-of-life care phase.
This is a new role within the Integrated Care service team so we are looking for an individual who is proactive, has vision and can really shape this developing role.
Key skills for this role include: compassionate; creative; ability to coordinate activities and events; experience of working with families ideally with complex social/health or palliative care needs, ability to work in a small team, ability to work independently, excellent communication skills, ability to network with external and internal professionals/service providers, comfortable working in clinical environments; flexible and resilient.
A full training package will be tailored to meet the individual. We also offer clinical supervision to ensure you maintain your resilience in this role.
