Data and Digitalisation Lead

Location: London or Suffolk offices with regular site visits required and hybrid working arrangements available

£450.00pd PAYE (+36 days holiday) or Up to £600.00pd via approved Umbrella

The purpose of the role is to support Head of Engineering and Technical Function in defining and driving implementation of Engineering & Technical Function Digitalisation Plan, and to act as a single point of interface to the CWP Data and Digital Coordinator to ensure functional digital and data requirements are defined, planned, and delivered to meet CWP programme objectives.

Key interfaces will exist between this role and Engineering Integration Data and Digital Lead to ensure consistent approach, and where applicable alignment related to engineering data management and digitalisation of functional processes and ways of working.

The role is expected to provide vision and leadership for "digital by default" ways of working within the Engineering & Technical function across all scopes, drive skills development within the function, oversee delivery of relevant initiatives within the function, and represent the function as a subject matter and sponsor of relevant IT deployment initiatives to ensure that the objectives of Programmes and their Digitalisation Plans are met.

The role reports to CWP Deputy Director of Engineering and Technical, identifies any required specialist skills and roles within the function and provides line management to these resources (e.g. BIM lead)

Principal Accountabilities

* Working closely within the CWP Engineering and Technical team to understand function objectives & priorities, and default processes and the roles of all team members within the function
* Working closely with Engineering and Technical Function, Information Management, IT, Quality to understand processes and requirements for CWP and translate them into Function Digitalisation Plans for each lifecycle stage of the project, defining a vision for "digital by default" and "data-enabled" ways of working within the function and a task plan for closing the gap between current and target state
* Develop, maintain and own the CWP Digitalisation Plan.
* Identifying skills gaps and training needs within the function that need to be addressed in order to meet those objectives and ensure this is reflected in budgets and recruitment plans of Functions and Programmes.
* Lead the Information Management and 3D Digital strategy for CWP, defining and approving implementation processes to ensure downstream compliance of suppliers to requirements.
* Accountable for EIR development to ensure that suppliers can be instructed with SZC requirements and methods.
* Maintaining resourced task plan for delivery of CWP Digitalisation Plan and driving its delivery with relevant team members of the programme and supply chain.
* Drive data and information management discipline within the function and implement support and audit mechanisms to hold team members of the function to account.
* Drive 3D model management and BIM discipline within the function and implement support and audit mechanisms to hold team members of the function to account.
* Reporting progress, risk and opportunities, including resource and skills gaps, related to delivery of Function Digitalisation Plan to Head of Function and to Programme Data & Digitalisation Coordinators through relevant interface meetings

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience

* Excellent understanding of infrastructure project delivery processes and challenges
* Hands-on experience and understanding of functional domain of the [Engineering] function within infrastructure project delivery with highly desirable nuclear sector engineering experience, including 3D / BIM management / Spatial management/ Configuration management / Design change management / As-built management / Safety case management (min 10 years in total across areas)
* Strong interest in and understanding of construction industry improvement agenda and the current industry-standard and industry-leading use of digital technologies and data within infrastructure project delivery as related to the scope of the [Engineering] function.
* Experience in digitalisation of the [Engineering] function processes and driving digitally / data-enabled ways of working transformation initiatives, IT / technology deployments within the scope of the function.
* Business analysis skills to identify process issues and process improvement opportunities within the function and its interfaces with other functions
* Strong communication and influencing skills
* Confident leading workstreams and working as part of a team.
* Desirable some Project Management and Change Management experience.
