Job description
Vetro Education is seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated SEN Teachers to work in SEN schools and PRU Units in and around the Blaenau Gwent Areas. These schools support learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder and challenging behaviour and Vetro Education is looking for Specialist Teachers in or around the area who are experienced in any of these fields.
The school we are supporting is currently looking to fill 2 x Long-term teaching posts which have the opportunity to turn into permanent work for the right person.
The school currently supports pupils aged between 3 and 16 across two sites and they are looking for Teachers who can work with both the upper and lower schools.
As a Welsh Government framework staffing provider, Vetro Education will allow you to work in Primary, Secondary and SEN schools as well as numerous privately run education provisions across Wales.
Overview:
- Title: Specialist Teacher
- Pay: £157 per day minimum
- Location: Blaenau Gwent
- Hours: Long Term - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a Specialist Teacher
- Lead a classroom of learners with ASD, PDA, Global delay Disorder or Challenging Behaviour
- Welcome learners at the start of the day
- Preparing the classroom for lessons and planning work where required
- Working with learners in small groups and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs on occasions
- Deliver lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Assist learners at break time with their lunch where required
- Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
- Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies
- The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a SEN Teacher
- At least 1 year of teaching experience (exceptions made for NQTs) - experience within an SEN or PRU setting would be beneficial
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent
- Registration as a Teacher with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
- References covering the last two years (no gaps)
The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a Specialist Teacher
- At least 1 year of teaching experience (exceptions made for NQTs) - experience within an SEN or PRU setting would be beneficial
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent
- Registration as a Teacher with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
- References covering the last two years (no gaps)
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- The right to work in the UK
