PE Technician

Job description

Due to continued success, we have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and committed PE Technician to join the team at Laurus Ryecroft. Your role will involve providing classroom and registration cover for absent teachers and provide administrative support as requested.

This position is contracted on a Term Time Only basis. This means you will mainly work when the school is open to students and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so. In total you will be in work for a minimum of 37 out of 52 weeks.

Job Purpose:
-Supervise and support the students in their class work ensuring that the work set is undertaken within the time allocated
-Liaise with teaching staff regarding work set in class and write a brief report on all lessons supervised.
-To support to the PE Department, taking responsibility for the organisation, coordination and supervision of afterschool sports activities and clubs in addition to coordinating the House Sporting Calendar.

Key Skills & Experience:
-Sound educational background including GCSE’s in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent
-Experience working in a school environment would be advantageous
-Ideally possess prior experience within a similar role
