Customs Compliance Consultant – Aberdeen – Up to £38,000
Our client, who are a global freight forwarder are looking for a Customs Compliance Consultant to join their team in Aberdeen.
As Customs Compliance Consultant you will provide bespoke advice, tailored to meet the requirements of the company’s clients, provide a high level of customer service and up-to-date training to help them achieve full compliance with UK import and export regulations. You will also help clients find and implement flexible solutions to ensure processes are compliant whilst looking to reduce costs.

Package:
- Salary up to £38,000
- 25 days annual leave + 8 Bank Holidays
- Life Assurance 2 x annual basic salary

Day-to-day:
- Provide Technical Advice while maintaining a Commercial outlook on both the company and the clients
- Process all diversions to Home Use requests for the client and present to HMRC on behalf of the clients
- Ensure that monthly statutory requirements are submitted to HMRC on behalf of the client
- Compliance Checks on HMRC declarations
- Apply for and manage client HMRC MSS Reports
- Assist with any HMRC applications for Special Procedures on behalf of the client
- Manage the clients HMRC records where required
- Where necessary provide support from ‘in-house’ at a client’s premise
- Carry out any Import/Export amendments on behalf of the client
- Conduct client reviews prior to HMRC Audits to reduce their risk to financial exposure
- Provide Report of Findings from Reviews and recommendation
- Assist with the preparation, co-ordination and delivery of any training courses being organised by the customs
- Attend any HMRC intervention at the request of our client to provide support
- Work closely with Sales and Operations teams
Requirements:
- Freight forwarding/Logistics/Customs familiarity is essential
- Experience of Microsoft office essential
- Experience of Visio or similar package desirable
- Strong communicator both written and verbal
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Good organisational skills
- Displays a positive attitude
- Ability to understand and read HMRC Customs Declarations
