ROLE SUMMARY
We are currently recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Electronics to join our Product Engineering team within our Operations department, based in Dunfermline. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Electronics will develop manufacturable electronic products/modules, processes, and tooling, as part of a multi-disciplinary manufacturing team. You will represent operations interests in new product commercialisation process and be involved in the transfer of products from development into production and supply chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Main technical point of contact for key electronic module suppliers.
- Supports existing products in manufacture.
- Co-ordinates the transfer of New Electronics and Software Products from Development into Production and suppliers.
- Creates protocols and conducts process validations.
- Conducts Root Cause Analysis, liaising with design authority and production to identify root cause – ultimately driving new process or design changes.
- Contribution to continuous improvement of existing product range through design analysis and innovative technology solutions.
- Improvement and Development of process documentation. (SOP’s, WI’s, Route Cards, C of C/R’s, PFMEA’s etc).
- Support electronic design documentation, design review and failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA).
- Contributes to the timely delivery of electronics design solutions against project requirements.
- Contributes to design concept analysis for existing product improvements regarding electronic performance and reliability.
- Communicates design intent and operational workflow of designed electronic systems to production staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or equivalent education gained through work experience.
- Experience, more than 2 years in an Electronic Manufacturing Environment (Low/Medium Volume Product Environment).
- Experience preferred in a regulated industry.
- Good organisational skills and ability to coordinate multiple project workload to ensure deadlines and targets are met.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (PC Literate, Microsoft packages etc).
- Practical experience of lean tools and methodologies.
- Team orientated, with a ‘hands on’, responsive attitude and customer focused.
- Adapting to change and ability to multitask.
- Experience in change control and ECN implementation desirable
- Good understanding of electronics test methods is desirable.
