Report to: Head of Design and Technology Department
Summary
To teach Food Technology across the age and ability range of the school, and any subsidiary subject offered to an appropriate level.
The Ellen Wilkinson School for Girls seeks to appoint a Teacher of Food Technology to contribute towards the vision and effectiveness of a dedicated and successful school.
Closing date for applications is on Thursday 21st March 2024 at 12 Noon.

Duties and Responsibilities
To carry out duties at all times with due regard to the principles of Equal Opportunities.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- The ability to translate “The Vision” of the School into a reality for all our pupils
- An awareness of equal opportunities issues and their implications for the teaching of Food Technology in a girls’
- school
- Ability to teach Food across the age and ability range of the school and to offer other D&T activities
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum implications for Food Technology and any other subject offered
- Awareness of current approaches and teaching strategies in Food Technology and any other subject offered
- Ability to monitor and assess the progress of pupils and provide feedback to parents
- ICT literate & with a clear understanding of how ICT can be used to support, extend & enrich learning
- Ability to communicate with staff and work as a member of a team
- Ability to engender enthusiasm for Food Technology, and any other subject offered, and to motivate pupils by demanding high standards of work and behaviour
- Ability to assist in the smooth running of the Department by carrying out reasonable tasks
- Ability to play a part in the pastoral curriculum of the school and to carry out the duties of a form tutor
