Key Skills and Qualifications:
• Time served – NVQ and / or degree qualified
• Strong electrical, systems repair and diagnostic skills with strong mechanical skills
• Conversant with CNC machinery including multi axis lathes, horizontal and vertical milling machines
• Ability to read part manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions and troubleshooting guides
• Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
• Attentive to detail
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and to stand, walk, bend / stoop on a regular basis
Experience:
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in all aspects of CNC machinery maintenance / mechanical engineering in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working on Fanuc controls would be an advantage
• Experience in commissioning and decommissioning machinery
• Knowledge of general manufacturing processes
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Repair CNC Machinery, Manual Machines and Machining Centres
• Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain machine tool equipment and controls
• Troubleshoot hydraulics, electronics, and software, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems
• Use machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues
• Identify and replace parts as necessary
• Complete testing and make adjustments of parts as needed
• Complete full condition appraisals on CNC machinery
• Complete planned and preventative procedures
• Planning and assisting with machine moves
• Escalate issues that could disrupt production
Salary is between 35k and 40k on days depending on experience.
