Job title: Self-Employed Personal Assistant (PA)

Reporting to: The Employer

Location: Pershore, WR10

Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.

About the employer:
Our client is an 87 year old female living in the Pershore area of Worcestershire who is looking to recruit a self-employed personal assistant to provide support for 40 hours per week with daily living tasks.

Main duties:
Social duties:
 keep in touch and socialise with family and friends
 attend medical appointments if required.

Personal care: support with all personal care, administration of medication, support with eating and drinking.

Domestic duties: support with cooking and serving nutritious meals and snacks, cleaning, changing linen, laundry.

These duties may vary from day-to-day.

Type of person that you/they are looking for:
 Values someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality and diversity.
 Specific requirements: someone with an understanding of Parkinson's. Previous care & support experience. Must likes dogs as there is a Jack Russell in the property.

 Other: due to the nature of this role including personal care the potential employer will be considering female applicants only.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week - 10 hours per day x 4 days per week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday.

Rate of pay: £15.00 per hour.

Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
 driving licence.
 car and appropriate insurance.
 previous care & support experience.
 medication training.
 must like dogs as one in the property.
 confidentiality.
 good at building relationships.
Preferred:
 good communicator.
 a good listener.
 ability to support people with complex care & support needs.

Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
