Individual Pupil Support Assistant
Northgate is a vibrant, multi-cultural primary school situated very close to Crawley town centre. We are a growing school with more than 630 children on roll currently including a Specialist Support Centre (SSC) for children with hearing impairment and a further 39-place maintained Nursery. We are seeking to appoint a Pupil Support Assistant who can provide 1:1 support for a pupil with significant medical needs joining us in our reception class. The successful candidate would be expected to work alongside the class teacher in order to meet specific individual learning needs. Applicants will need to be competent in English and mathematics, and will need to share our commitment to ensuring that every child achieves their full potential. An interest and/or experience in supporting children with significant social and emotional mental health needs would be a significant advantage. Working hours are: 08.30 15.15; 5 days per week; term time only. The role also includes lunchtime supervision responsibilities and medical training. Previous experience of working in a similar position is desirable but not essential and relevant training is available to the right candidate.
