Job description
We are looking for someone to join our team at the University Data Office as the Data Governance Manager - a full time, permanent position.
Over the last 18 months we have taken our first steps in improving Data Governance. Now we want you to grasp it firmly and take it to the next level of its maturity. Because we are undergoing a lot of change internally, the need for good data governance is becoming more pressing. As systems and processes change around us, old certainties are being questioned. This is good because it means that we can make positive decisions about how we want to operate. But it is challenging because many of the data experts we rely on are short on time, and are often involved in driving changes to systems and processes. This means that our data governance landscape is continually shifting, making it impossible for any individual within a single business function to fully understand it.
The main part of this role will be co-creating, supporting, and evolving the framework we use to navigate these decisions and processes. Data Governance will be one of several activities seeking to create lasting cultural change at the University, by creating tangible benefits for data experts, data users and the data curious.
You will be responsible for designing the data governance framework in collaboration with stakeholders around the University. You will also contribute to the wider Data Office objective of creating and embedding a data strategy, and a data operating model.
If you
then we want to hear from you.
