Split between Amsterdam (Dart Design) and The Hague (Narrative Labs), this is a unique opportunity to shape the ESG advisory services of two dynamic boutique communications agencies.
Together, we help leading European organisations with all aspects of their sustainability and broader communications and brand development needs – from integrated and ESG reports, to corporate narratives and key messaging, project management, graphic design, and beyond.
Dart Design and Narrative Labs are part of Only Creative Entrepreneurs, a community of around 300 strategists, designers, writers, developers, creatives, media and content specialists driven by the power of connection.
Increasingly, our clients are asking us to play an advisory role as they adjust to a fast-changing European corporate sustainability landscape. This includes advising on ESG reporting and broader sustainability strategy, as well as working on 'technical' sustainability projects – like net zero roadmaps, double materiality assessments and (CSRD) gap analyses.
We are looking for a passionate, energetic sustainability professional who wants to help change businesses for the better. This role would be particularly suitable for someone working in a larger consultancy who is looking to take the next step in their career while working in a more flexible, entrepreneurial environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing clients’ non-financial reporting for alignment with current and future reporting regulations – for example, through gap analyses and workshops
- Going deep with clients on ‘technical’ sustainability projects – sustainability strategies, net-zero roadmaps, (CSRD) gap analyses, double materiality assessments, etc.
- Helping colleagues strengthen their knowledge of sustainability issues, developments and theory
- Working with the agencies’ leadership to identify and capture new business opportunities in the reporting space, including through business development pitches and meetings
What we are looking for:
- Ideally, 3+ years’ experience working in sustainability in a technical or advisory capacity, ideally with a significant ESG reporting component
- Strong understanding of existing and incoming sustainability regulation and frameworks (e.g. CSRD, GRI, SASB, ISSB, TCFD, EU Taxonomy, CSDDD, etc.)
- Ideally, a Master's in a relevant field (reporting, environmental science, sustainability, accountancy, etc.)
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (knowledge of Dutch is a plus)
- Rock-solid written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with excellent time management
- An optimistic, proactive, solutions-driven outlook
- Strong, communicative team player
- Well-honed organisational skills – able to work in a structured way and manage unexpected situations
