Job description

As Satellite Communications Engineer you will be supporting both the R&D activities and ongoing customer operations of the company on the satellite communications for GEO and Non-GEO links with applications.

As Satellite Communications Engineer you will be involved in the development of algorithms and satellite communication software modules used to ensure the highest quality R&D and a high degree of engagement with customers to ensure core algorithms meet their needs.

Y our day-to-day responsibilities will include

• Supporting the Company’s satellite network design activities with GEO and Non-GEO constellations by carrying out system design projects using our software tools
• Developing prototype solutions on Non-GEO constellations to be integrated as features in products
• Analysing requirements for both GEO and Non-GEO systems
• Conducting research on system design for both GEO and Non-GEO links
• Running and developing link budgets and with orbit calculations
• Calculating Non-GEO orbits to be used in the design of Non-GEO Satellite Communication systems
• Supporting the writing of research proposals and technical part of commercial proposals
• Working in multi-disciplinary teams to prepare and review user stories and tasks
• Providing, as part of a team, 24/7 customer support

Experience required

• Be educated to BSc or higher in Electrical Engineer or other relevant field or equivalent
• Previous commercial experience in similar role
• Strong commercial experience in software development in Python
• Good understanding of satellite communications and telecommunication systems
• Experience of using link budgets and with orbit calculations
• Understanding of atmospheric propagation and ITU-R recommendations
