Commercial Director - Public Sector Consulting Services
Location: Hybrid, with one day onsite in Bristol
We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Commercial Director to join our esteemed senior leadership team within the public sector consulting division. As the Commercial Director, you will spearhead our efforts in the technology consulting market, with a focus on driving business growth and securing new sales and building key relationships within the UK Central Government.
As a Commercial Director your responsibilities will be:
- Lead business/commercial development initiatives, including client identification, relationship cultivation, and sales closure.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue targets and expand market share within the public sector.
- Set and understand individual and team sales targets, and strategize to achieve them effectively.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking and relationship building within the private sector.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, establishing yourself as a thought leader in our consulting domain.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders to identify growth opportunities that also benefit the private sector.
- Mentor and guide sales professionals, while supporting the technical team to achieve sales targets.
- Share expertise and knowledge with internal teams to develop tailored solutions for clients.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to identify consulting opportunities for private sector clients.
- Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitors to identify new opportunities.
- Host networking events and participate in industry gatherings to enhance our company's visibility and reputation.
- Conduct learning and development workshops to empower sales and operations teams.
- Forge sales relationships within our wider business network to unlock consulting opportunities.
As a Commerical Director you will have the following skills/experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven track record of success in sales, consulting, and business development within the central government sector.
- Deep understanding of central government policies, regulations, and decision-making processes.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in consulting, government, or related fields.
- Familiarity with staffing technology and market landscape.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and mentoring skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exceed personal sales targets.
- Proficiency in commercial bidding and financial acumen.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
