Job description
What you will do in your working day
- Working with existing clients of the company for annual reviews.
- Initial disclosure, explanation of services and assessment of potential service requirements
- Obtain a signed fee agreement for each area of service in advance of provision of that service
- Complete a fact find to the extent necessary to provide the advice requested and contracted
- Research or arrange research that meets the requirements for the advice and recommendations to be given
- Produce a report and where applicable, make recommendations to the client
- Verify client identification prior to making any arrangements.
- Ensure that all arrangements have been made on client instructions completing applications, reports and follow up appropriately
- Keep accurate records of all stages of the process, respect client confidentiality, keep data secure and follow firm procedures
- Make available all client records for inspection by the firm or external compliance contractors
- Instigate and conduct timely client reviews in accordance with firm procedures
- Undertake the necessary training and continuing professional development required by the regulatory authorities and the firm’s supervisory team
- Observe at all times the regulatory principles & conduct rules
The training you will be getting
Level 4 Financial Adviser Apprenticeship Standard:
- You will follow an approved study programme leading to a industry recognised qualification DipFA (LIBF) along with developing the necessary business and behavioural skills for the role
- Through job-based training and study towards a highly respected benchmark qualification, the apprentice will become a competent and confident financial adviser
Key Learning Outcomes:
- In depth understanding of the Financial Services regulatory framework, and the ethics and key principles of the advice process
- Understanding the structure of the Financial Services market including: Product Providers’ Services, Support Services and Platforms
- Financial products & financial planning tools – analysing features and benefits
- The significance and importance of Knowing Your Client (KYC)
- Managing risk
- Communication & relationships
The apprentice is assigned a dedicated experienced mentor to guide them through the programme. Regular scheduled interactions with the apprentice ensure they are developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to become competent in the role.
To help prepare the apprentice for the DipFA qualification, apprentices are provided with Simply Academy’s DipFA resource package, alongside a structured study plan supported by a series of live revision sessions with our DipFA tutors.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- A permanent position within the organisation is possible upon completion of the apprenticeship
