Location – Stamford Bridge / Cobham / Match day travel
Hours – Permanent – 35 hours a week (Any 5 of 7)

What we are looking for:
Chelsea FC are looking for a Senior Web Editor to oversee the day-to-day output across the official Chelsea website and execute on an editorial and content strategy.
Brief description and duties:
- Oversee the day-to-day output across the official Chelsea website and support, when required, on the day-to-day output on the official Chelsea app.
- Work closely with the Editorial Lead to execute on an editorial and content strategy that aligns with the club's overall commercial and marketing objectives.
- Work alongside other members of the editorial team and website-focused content staff to ensure best-in-class content on the official Chelsea website.
- Plan and undertake interviews with players and staff that aligns with the editorial strategy and delivers unrivalled insight to supporters.
- Propose and produce engaging, emotive and innovative feature content that celebrates and showcases the important stories on our respective teams, and the wider club.
- Develop and maintain relationships across various club departments – and with key stakeholders – to unearth and produce compelling, story-driven content.
- Plan and contribute to leading coverage of home and away fixtures for the Men’s and Women’s teams.
- Work Men’s and Women’s games, both home and away on a rota basis, including some European and global travel where required.
- Proactively seek new opportunities for content to enhance our output on the official Chelsea website.
- Deliver on Partner and Commercial campaigns as required.
- Support the social & video departments to ensure best-in-class digital content across club channels.
- Represent the editorial team in meetings across the club.
Must Haves/qualified by demonstrable experience to the level required:
- Degree in a relevant field or equivalent NCTJ qualification.
- Previous experience in professional football or digital media.
- At least five years’ experience working in professional football media or digital publishing.
- Proven experience working in digital media, preferably for a global brand or publisher.
- Sound editorial judgement and a strong understanding of sensitives around digital club content.
- A natural storyteller with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work at a fast pace under pressure but also maintain a strong eye for detail for content published for a global audience.
- Able to demonstrate a passion and curiosity for football-related media and have a strong understanding of digital trends.
- Must be comfortable with out-of-hours work and working reactively to tight deadlines.
- Confident using a CMS and publishing to a global audience.
- Understanding of best practices for website content.
- A supportive team player with the ability to guide other members of communications department as required.
Skills and Behaviours:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create and shape content that resonates with audiences.
- Highly capable editor and writer for a variety of purposes and audiences.
- Experience of working to strict deadlines in a fast-paced media environment, demonstrating strong proof reading and researching skills.
- Able to build and maintain strong working relationships across different club departments.
- Experience in dealing with high-profile personalities.
- Comprehensive understanding of digital media and a strong knowledge of professional football
- Able to deal with sensitive situations tactfully and maintain confidentially regarding information gained about the Club and its personnel.
- Experience working on brand and cultural campaigns.
