Job description

What you will do in your working day

The apprentice will perform tasks such as:

• Accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and Limited Companies
• VAT preparation
• Bookkeeping
• Management accounts and corporate tax computations.

The training you will be getting

At the end of the apprenticeship you will have completed the Level 2 Accounts-Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Standard and gain either a grade Pass or Distinction. 

You will also get a Level 2 AAT Diploma at grade Pass.

Day-release will be from the Eastbourne campus, once a week, term time only. The next intake will be September 2023.

6 hours of your working week will be spent on training, which you must log. Training is anything where you are learning skills relevant for the job. For instance, working on your porfolio, mock assessments, revision for your AAT diploma, being mentored, shadowing other members of staff, in-house training, day-release to college, meetings with your assessor and so on.

Applications will also be considered for Level 3. Level 3 applicants must have completed Level 2 AAT.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Permanent full-time employment on successful completion of the apprenticeship and further study options available.
