Are you seeking a position for a Learning Mentor?
Do you have over two terms experience within a mainstream primary school supporting pupils of all levels?
Could you be interested in the role as a Learning Mentor / Teaching Assistant within a year 2 class supporting pupils who are struggling with literacy and maths?
If so, read on! Learning Mentor / Teaching Assistant - about the role: The role will be split up into two parts
5 mornings - Special needs assistant - to work with a Y2 non-verbal, severely autistic girl. This child is toilet trained although she needs to be accompanied to the toilet.
5 Afternoons - Y1 TA support in class. Support small groups of children under the direction of the class teacher, supervise play, do playground duties etc.
The school need someone with good experience supporting children with autism, who understands school/SEND nomenclature e.g., IEPs, EHCP, annual reviews, parent consultations etc.
Ideally, the the Learning Mentor would have knowledge of PECs, Makaton and visual timetables. They also need to be very creative (plan fun sensory activities) and active
